I took some shots of Anthea today, before she gets huge and non-newbornish! These are a few of my favorites. She’s such a little beauty!

The Birth of Anthea Ruth
Apparently I have the Waldorf-Astoria of a uterus. These babies never want to check out. By the time I was past my due date, I was feeling pretty uncomfortable. I was having contractions off and on, but at my appointments, I was making no progress. It was really disheartening, because I really believed that I would go into labor on my own this time. I tried to tell myself that it...

We are home now. It’s amazing how much love I have for this little person. She’s a little dark-haired, blue-eyed beauty, and her feet already reach the end of newborn-sized jammies. She’s so mellow and sweet, the perfect complement to her big sister.
More to come, but right now, I am drinking in every moment, which I know will pass too quickly. In the meantime, thank you...

We went to a Valentine’s Day party this morning. Rosemary basically just ran around crazily with other kids for an hour and a half and stuffed her face with fruit and chocolate-dipped rice krispy treats. She’s so good at playing with other kids. She holds back and watches a bit and isn’t pushy, even when bigger kids take her toys or get wild. She will kind of just work her...

Rosemary's favorite word
Me: Gosh! She calls everything a "cupcake." That is not a cupcake, that is a lamp.
Andrew: There's a linguistic term for that...
Me: What? Being an 18-month-old who loves cupcakes?

I know you all are on the edge of your seat. So let me just tell you my stroller woes have been solved (oh, first-world problems)!
After the pieces weren’t compatible to change our iCandy Apple Jogger into an iCandy Pear, I did more irrational things that confused my husband. Like frantically running to Staples for packing tape at 10pm and making him print 200 copies of the return label...

18 months!
Yesterday was Rosemary’s half birthday. I can’t believe my little lady is 18 months old! She’s changed so much, just from looking at pictures from a few months ago, even. It seems every day, there’s a new development or fun trick. I’m not kidding when I say that every day gets more fun and cute. She says “uh oh” and “oops” about a thousand...

A new low
One of Rosemary’s favorite words is “ball.”
She just came over to me while I was laying on the sofa, lifted my shirt, patted my belly and said, “BALL!!”
Oi.

A hoppin Friday night...
…in the life of an almost-18-month-old, that is.
Clockwise from top: filling up her bean belly at Chipotle. Trying on some size 18 shoes at Nordstrom Rack (when we got to the shoe aisle, she got ridiculously excited and quickly removed her own shoes to try on everything in sight). Checking out some birds at the free zoo, also known as Petco, and hey, they look just like Samuel and...
