Yesterday, Rosemary turned 21 months old. This has been a big month for her. And this is her favorite shirt.
First, there’s the talking. She’s really started to pick up new words every day. It’s like a switch was flipped and now she gets it. She has understood us for months and months, but it’s only recently that she’s started using lots of words. She knows a...

Two months! I took these pictures on her actual two-month birthday, but I am a little late in posting. It’s been a rough couple of days, as Anthea has been testing out her screaming and not-sleeping capabilities.
I still maintain that she is a very easy baby, but she really seems uncomfortable at times and won’t settle and has been reluctant to nurse. She has a doctor’s...

We have a small dare-devilling problem, as of late. Rosemary is extremely physical and has excellent balance and climbing skills for someone so young and tiny. Combined with a streak of fearless-ness, she gives me a heart attack almost daily. At the playground, she climbs to the highest points and goes down the highest slides. She wants to swing higher and higher. And after she repeatedly...

This sweet darling is eight weeks old today. I love newborns, I really do. But each new moment is better than the last. Spring is here and the days are longer and lighter. Just as cracks in the clouds reveal more and more sunlight, we see more of the baby she’s becoming every day.

The Playroom
This is our new playroom! It’s always been a room in our house, obviously. But, until recently, it contained a china cabinet, some random tubes of wrapping paper, and an antique dining table that I am using as a changing table.
I decided that it was a waste of space as-is, and that turning it into a playroom would rock. It’s done wonders for my sanity to contain the mess (which...

Dear Anthea,
You are seven weeks old now! (As of yesterday). You have grown so quickly and are more beautiful every day. Look how long you are in these pictures! And these clothes are size six months!
Yesterday, you slept in your crib for the first time. I moved it into our bedroom, right next to me, so I could still be near you. You’ve gotten too big for your moses...

My parents got a vintage Wonder Horse at a garage sale. It’s in great shape, and like any vintage toy, is much more dangerous than anything being made today. They brought it over this weekend and we thought we’d help her ride it and hold her while she slowly tried it out. But, in true Rosemary fashion, she did not want or need help. Once she was sitting on the saddle, she...

The Easter Bunny left a trail to a goodie basket for the little ladies of the house this morning. We have gorgeous weather, a picnic and a day with family on the horizon. Happy Easter everyone.

We went to a fantastic (and free!) hunt yesterday at one of our local grocery stores. They had 50,000 eggs hidden in the store, and it was madness. Rosie sat in the middle of an aisle and grabbed eggs within her reach while kids ran around like crazies. It was like shooting fish in a barrel with the amount of eggs in there. Anthea slept. We’ll definitely be back next year for this...

Are you reading from Sacramento??
Totally a long shot, but I am curious if any readers live near Sacramento. Apparently, there is an Anthea Street in the vicinity (so says Google maps), and I would totally love a picture of the street sign. Do let me know…

Today we went to a toddler “egg-stravaganza.” There was an Easter bunny, games, crafts, and an egg hunt divided by age. Rosie did the 1-2 year-old hunt. At first, she picked up one egg and sat down to investigate. She put some plastic easter grass in her basket and was just chillin. I thought maybe this was a bust, but then she looked up and saw all the eggs around her. She went...

We’ve got a few egg hunts lined up for later this week. Based off Rosie’s skills in Target, I think she’ll stack up nicely against the older kids.
