Snow threatened to ruin our night away last night. It took us an hour to get from our part of the city just to the freeway, and we saw several cars slip, slide, and blocking roadways. I was super nervous, given the amount of snow falling where we live and the fact that we were headed east into the mountains.
But, it all ended up all right. We had a great night away, stopping for rootbeer and burgers and browsing an outlet mall (Rosemary may have scored some baby Air Jordans at the Nike Outlet) before heading to our lovely hotel for the night. The snow made everything look really picturesque, and they upgraded our room to a river-view one for free when we told them we were celebrating our anniversary. It also didn’t hurt that I watched the Golden Globes and Downton Abbey from the comfort of an enormous jacuzzi in our room.
We’re super lucky to have my parents close by. They stayed at our house with Rosemary and my mom sent me text updates about our sweet girl as she played in the snow and took her evening bath. I think she had too much fun to miss us, but she did seem a little extra cuddly this afternoon when I returned.
More snow on the way…I’m hoping I don’t go into labor during a snow blast, as Seattle is such a mess in the snow!
