We went to the zoo on Saturday. We were really excited to take Rosemary to the zoo, since the last time she went was to the London Zoo, and it was freezing, and she was really too young to know what was going on.

She loves animals now. She’ll do animal sounds and knows what many of them are called. She especially loves birds, bugs, and fish. She really enjoyed herself, and it was so fun to watch her. She was a little concerned about the animals being in enclosures. She kept going, “Uh ohhhh!” Like, “Uh, we should totally let them out.” She also was confused and a bit worried about the animal statues they had around the zoo for kids to climb on and such. She wasn’t sure if they were real and approached with caution. She also liked to say things like, “Hi, Turtle!” to the animals, and kept repeating them. They never answered back.

Anthea was awake for the whole visit and enjoyed looking at the animals as well. She was not content to sit in the stroller and wanted to go, see, and do, too!

It ended up being not too much more to pay for a zoo membership, so we did that, and we’ll definitely be going back! It’ll pay for itself in just two visits. And Rosemary was really taking her time wandering through the place, so we didn’t get to see the whole zoo before she got tired. (Kid wouldn’t even consider riding in the stroller unless she was having a snack in there). It was also funny because she was just as enthralled with an ant crawling across the cement as she was the giraffe. I love that everything is so magical for her.
